Gold Star is more than one person in Criminal Minds: Evolution. The conspiracy grows, and now the BAU is working on taking down Damien, who seems to be in charge of the whole thing. However, the BAU is going to do it without its formidable leader.

Prentiss was arrested two episodes ago, but was released during the following episode. Brian chose not to press charges, and we know why. There’s no way he would be able to make charges stick. Everyone must have realized that Prentiss had no marks on her to support the idea that she beat Brian up.

Plus, Brian doesn’t necessarily want to do the dirty on Prentiss. He just wants to keep his family safe. The problem is the damage seems to be done against Prentiss.

Is the DOJ in on Gold Star in Criminal Minds: Evolution?

Prentiss is now off the Gold Star case. The DOJ has made it clear that Prentiss can’t be trusted after her arrest. The problem is anyone must see that this was all a setup. Anyone in charge would be able to see that a man who was beaten wouldn’t have decided to not press charges. Not unless there was something bigger going on.

The DOJ knows who smart Voit’s network is. They’ll know that Gold Star is also just as smart, especially going from being one singular person to a whole network. Why would the DOJ even consider that what happened to Prentiss wasn’t part of this bigger situation going on? Considering how long she was after Gold Star without the rest of the BAU knowing, it’s clear that Gold Star would want to take her down and getting her arrested is a great way to do that.

So, is someone within the DOJ working with Gold Star? This whole program is much larger than it would initially seem, and Damien constantly seems a step ahead of everyone else. Does that mean Damien has got to someone within the DOJ to take his biggest threat off the table? It certainly seems so.
