Sometimes the timing of a murder can be so perfect that a person almost gets away with it. That's the case for the murder covered in the upcoming episode of Sins of the South.

We head back to 2006 for this episode on Oxygen. Think of the turmoil in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. As people lost their homes and struggled to get back on their feet, some turned to violence. So, when a pastor was killed outside of his home, police initially put it down to the post-hurricane violence.

It turned out to be anything but that. This was a targeted killing, and the timing was just right to throw the police off for a while. Only for a while, though.

Detective Decynda Chambers talks about a case of a lifetime in Sins of the South

In our exclusive clip of Sins of the South Episode 4, Detective Decynda Chambers tells us about the case. She shares how two people came into her police station with evidence that a murder had happened. It opened a case wide.

Take a look at the sneak peek for the episode, where Chambers talks about the phone call she received that started everything. There was no way she could let this case lie.

The two informants showed that the murder of a New Orleans pastor was not just some post-hurricane tragedy. There was something much more sinister. It led Chambers and her team down a path to uncover the Black Widow.

You see, it turned out that this was the second unsolved murder with some similarities. The seven deadly sins are certainly, well, deadly. Chambers went on a path to uncover the truth that involed a thrice-widowed murderess. Now nicknamed the Black Widow, Emma Raine was eventually caught and is now serving life in prison in Louisiana.

How was she caught? What led to her wicked web being uncovered and broken? That's something this latest episode of Sins of the South shows, and you will not want to miss it.

Sins of the South airs Sundays at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Oxygen True Crime.
