At first, we just needed to know when Snowpiercer Season 4 would finally arrive. Now we have questions about who will return based on the way things ended in Season 3. The teaser trailer is out, and it hints at the return on one particular villain.
We know that the fourth and final season will need to cover the stories of those on Snowpiercer and at New Eden. The two trains split in two, with Big Alice heading off to the location of New Eden, in the hope that people can live on the land again. Meanwhile, Melanie needs to find a way to keep her followers alive knowing that the Eternal Engine is slowly failing.
But what about one particular antagonist? Melanie and Layton did agree on one thing: Wilfred couldn’t be allowed to remain with either group. He had caused way too many problems for his own gains and his own need of attention and devotion. So, he was placed in the cart that Melanie had survived in with the black liquid that would keep people alive.
Wilfred will return in Snowpiercer Season 4
The teaser trailer makes it clear that that isn’t the end for Sean Bean’s character, though. We don’t get to see much, but there is a clear shot of Wilfred taking a breath. He has made it to somewhere outside of that small transport train, but whether that’s on the train or at New Eden, it isn’t clear.
The people of Snowpiercer will run into trouble. The teaser trailer has Ben and Till going out into an icy wasteland where they see a sign that says “don’t run.” Then a group of people step up from behind a small hill and attack. Are they followers of Wilfred, or is this another threat to the survivors on Snowpiercer? Do people really think that they were the only survivors considering we know that rats were able to survive the cold?
They’re not the only ones facing unknown adversaries. The people of New Eden will face the same as well. It looks like they aren’t the only people to find the spot where humans can live on land again.
