Farewell Street: Counting the 10 best moments for the SWAT cop
Keeping the personal out of the professional (Season 6, Episode 10)
It’s always hard for the SWAT guys to put their personal feelings aside on a case. That came up big time for Street in this episode as the team sought to find a boy kidnapped from a homeless shelter after witnessing a crime. As someone who grew up in foster care, Street could relate.
However, his judgment was clouded as when he met the boy’s mother, Street just saw his own mom. Thus, he berated her for being into drugs, of not caring for her son and it was her fault. That had him benched by Deacon, but eventually came around to how bad his attitude was. Street had to acknowledge that overcoming his own issues was needed to be a better cop.
End of the road (Season 7, Episode 5)
Fittingly, Street’s final episode was a big one. After training back in Long Beach, Street helped those SWAT cops with the main team hunting some stolen weapons. His old boss noted how much Street had grown into a great cop and leader. That came up when the man was shot, and Street took up command of the team.
He helped them capture the bikers behind the theft, but when he heard the SWAT commander had died of his injuries, Street made a big decision. Feeling that the team needed him more, Street would take over as the Long Beach SWAT leader. Hondo was sad to see him go but proud of Street stepping up like this. To top it off, Street revealed to Tan that he was planning to propose to Chris. It was the best sendoff to the character and showed just how far Street had grown over SWAT’s run.
