January is usually the time that broadcast networks bring back our shows. That's not the case for The Rookie and more in 2024.

It’s bad news for fans of The Rookie and many more TV shows on broadcast networks. This is among the shows not coming back in January 2024.

This is all linked to the strike action throughout the summer. Production could only start up after Thanksgiving, and that’s just not enough time to get most shows ready for a premiere date. NBC is pushing for January returns, but other networks are opting for February and March.

That includes ABC. Most of its shows are coming back in February 2024. There are a few coming back in March. Which one is The Rookie?

When will The Rookie Season 6 premiere on ABC?

The cop dramedy is coming back in February. Get Tuesday, Feb. 20 in your diary.

This is one of those shows that seen multiple time slots and days. It’s happening again. While the show remains on a Tuesday, it is not going up against FBI on CBS. Instead, it’s going up against FBI: International. Episodes will air at 9 p.m. ET/PT, straight after new episodes of Will Trent.

There has been one big question about the fate of one character throughout the break. Aaron Thorsen was on death’s door in the finale, but the teaser for the new season looks to give away his fate. In fact, the teaser puts no focus on is storyline at all, and it’s only one clip at the 13 second mark that suggests Thorsen is going to be just fine. We can see him back in uniform running with Bradford.

A lot of the teaser is focused on Lisseth Chavez’s Juarez. She was upped to series regular in December, and now eyes are on how she’ll grow as a character as she continues her journey as Nolan’s rookie.
