Is Tory Kittles leaving The Equalizer? (Is a cast change coming for Season 5?)
Tory Kittles’s Marcus Dante has been an important part of The Equalizer since the very first episode. He started off as the man wanting to catch Robyn McCall and became an ally and a love interest.
The fourth season brought him an opportunity he couldn’t miss out on. He was offered the chance to move to California. It looks like this storyline could have been introduced due to Kittles getting the opportunity to star as Cephus Mills in Home on Broadway.
So, is that it? Is this the last we’ve seen of Dante, and does it mean heartbreak for McCall?
It looks like Dante will be back in The Equalizer Season 5
To be fair, Dante didn’t get much of a choice. The chance to move to California wasn’t an opportunity of a lifetime. He either took it or he would be stuck to a desk for the rest of his career. He couldn’t do the latter. He did think about it considering everything that it would mean with his father, his ex-wife, and Robyn, but in the end, he needed to accept it.
It doesn’t sound like he is leaving for good, though. Kittles had talked to Screen Rant about the fifth season of the series and about how the show would push the envelope. It does sound like he intends to be back, but it could take some time for him to return. This depends on filming schedules and his work on Broadway.
The move to California doesn’t have to be permanent. There are a few reasons why it could come to an end. Maybe he can’t make it work with his kids and dealing with his father who is in a coma. Maybe he doesn’t want to leave Robyn behind. Or maybe there’s a change at the top in New York, which gives him the chance to move back.
I guess we’ll have to find out when The Equalizer Season 5 premieres in fall 2024.
