3 true crime shows coming to ID in September you won't want to miss
September is all about the return of the main scripted shows, but what if you’re not into that? What if you prefer true crime? Investigation Discovery has you covered.
There are three shows heading to ID at the start of September. They will cover a variety of murders, including stories of serial killers hiding bodies and a bunch of murders in a small town.
How (Not) to Get Rid of a Body
The first series to come to ID is How (Not) to Get Rid of a Body. It will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
We’ve seen the lengths that murderers go to so that they can get away with their crime. In fact, some serial killers have been unidentified for months or years, and some never caught. Then there are others who end up coming up with plans that get them caught.
Each episode of this series will take a look at the criminal masterminds who have gone to great lengths to dispose of their victims. The idea is for their victims to never be found, meaning that they can get away with murder. No body, no forensic evidence. However, the country’s top detectives will leave no stone unturned.
The Real Murders on Elm Street
Monday, Sept. 9 sees the arrival of two new true crime shows. The first is The Real Murders on Elm Street. Recognize the name of the street? You should do! Yes, this is a nod to Wes Craven’s franchise that involves Freddy Kreuger.
The six-part series takes us across small suburban towns that have been torn apart by murder. These residential streets become a place of senseless death. The streets in each episode are called Elm Street, and you’ll be surprised by the number that have involved murder. Just nothing quite like Wes Craven envisioned.
Cabin in the Woods
You’ve seen Cabin in the Woods the movie, but what about the real stories. Did you really think murders in remote cabins are just an urban legend? The other Monday, Sept. 9 drop is Cabin in the Woods.
There’s little known about this series. All Deadline tells us is that it will investigate elements in a true crime-meets-horror fashion. Watch out for where you stay on vacation.
