What is Judd going to do with his life in 911: Lone Star Season 5?
Sometimes, the one thing you need is an honest conversation. And that’s what Judd had in the 911: Lone Star Season 5 premiere.
Caution: There are some MINOR SPOILERS from the 911: Lone Star Season 5 premiere in this post.
At the end of Season 4, Judd opted to take retirement so he could care for his newly paralyzed son. Season 5 picks up a year later, with Wyatt now moving into his own apartment with his girlfriend and child of his own. Judd had spent six weeks fixing up the place to make it accessible for Wyatt, and now Judd has some free time on his hands.
What will he do with that time? Well, while he made a joke about watching football, he later admitted to Wyatt that he doesn’t know. Couldn’t he just go back to the 126? Well, it’s not that simple, and he doesn’t want to go back as a rookie again.
Could Judd have an honest conversation with Owen in 911: Lone Star?
Judd did say that if he could get Owen to recommend him coming back, he’d be able to walk back into his old position. Only when Judd went to speak to Owen, Owen asked Judd for advice on how to fill the lieutenant position. Should it be Marjan or Paul?
Judd decided not to say anything to Owen about wanting to come back, but he really needs to. The only want to get Judd back with the 126 is for Judd to have an honest conversation with Owen. And Owen is sure to understand Judd’s wish to come back, especially considering the circumstances Judd chose retirement.
This is likely to take some time. I bet we’ll see Paul and Marjan coming to blows before Judd admits this. I just hope it doesn’t take too long.
Will Judd find a new purpose in life in 911: Lone Star?
An alternate option is that Judd finds a new purpose. This was brought up, especially with Judd’s skills in remodeling the apartment for Wyatt. Could he go into something like this? Could he find a new purpose?
That’s the problem. Judd believes that firefighting was his purpose. Wyatt made it clear that he believed that too and then found his purpose as a 911 dispatcher. Surely there is something else out there for Judd.
We could see him try to find a new purpose in the series. However, I do think that it will end up with Judd and Owen finally having the honest conversation that they need to have so Judd comes back.
911: Lone Star airs Mondays at 8/7c on FOX. Catch up the following day on Hulu.
