If you love 20/20, you’ll be happy to hear that there is a special docuseries. It’s all about The Interrogation Tapes, which begins tonight, Monday, April 1, on ABC. It will air on Hulu the following day.

This is a new series that will take over our Monday nights. It takes the 20/20 team into some of the most compelling criminal cases in recent history. They focus is on the interrogations that led to confessions from suspects and help to unfold the real events that happened.

We know the old-school methods of interrogations. How have they changed in recent years? Have they even changed in recent years, because sometimes, the news and TV likes us to think that nothing needed to be changed. It’s time to delve into the heart of interrogations.

How many episodes of The Interrogation Tapes will there be?

Tonight starts the first of six episodes. Each episode is a different case, so you can watch them in any order that you want when the episodes head to Hulu if you miss them live.

Episode 1 is titled “With Friends Like These,” which follows the death of 19-year-old Sarah Stern. The aspiring artist was reported missing when her car was found abandoned on a bridge. Police turned to her childhood friend as a suspect, and it all started from some omissions in his statement and interviews.

The 20/20 team takes a look at the interrogation process, which included the use of an up-and-coming filmmaker who was willing to go undercover to get to the bottom of the situation. This filmmaker gained a chilling confession, which helped to bring Sarah’s killer to justice.
