Professor T, PBS’s cozy-adjacent crime drama, returns for season 4! Six months after her murder, the Professor is still reeling from DC Doncker's death, and having intrusive thoughts of her body at the crime scene. He continues to process his OCD with Dr. Goldberg, who is frustrated that Jasper’s gloves have made a reappearance, derailing his progress last season.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for the Professor T season 4 premiere.
We take a look at everything that happened in the Professor T season 4 premiere.
A socialite disappears on a cruise ship, where she had joined her boyfriend, JC, to scatter his mother’s ashes at sea. It is presumed she went overboard. Dr. Goldberg asks Jasper to get involved since she is a friend of the missing woman’s mother.

Is it really murder on the high seas in the Professor T season 4 premiere?
A new DC, Chloe Highsmith, comes on board (pun intended!), to round out the team since Lisa’s death. Highsmith is young and inexperienced, but provides a fresh eye to the details of the crime.
Jasper’s mother, Adelaide, is on a world tour, and the maternal vacancy is filled by her sister, Jasper’s Aunt Zelda, a maneater and an old flame of the Dean! Zelda (a charming performance by Zoe Wanamaker) is here to help take care of little Kafka and take care of his “emotional needs”, but presumably, also to take care of Jasper.
Jasper figures out that the woman’s disappearance on the boat was a staged crime; she was really kidnapped, and thinks she is being held in an abandoned house. He recruits Ms. Snares to help, who continues to keep an eye on the Professor in her delightfully quirky and slightly diabolical way. She helps Jasper on a stakeout to find out where the missing woman is being held.

Jasper comes through and places himself in danger to save the young woman. DI Dan Winters is bottling up all his own grief over Lisa’s death and is refusing to grieve for her at her memorial. He is also angry at the Professor for putting himself in harm’s way.
Jasper decides the best way to process his grief is to take up the drums. We can only hope some snare and bass are just what the doctor ordered!
Professor T airs on Sundays at 8/7c on PBS.
