Reacher needs to get some answers while protecting his identity in Reacher season 3, episode 3. He also decides to go for a swim.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Reacher season 3, episode 3.
The third of the bulk of episodes that dropped on Thursday, Feb. 20 quickly put Jack Reacher in more danger. People understandably don’t trust him. That’s not surprising. He happened to be in the right place at the right time when it came to Richard’s attempted kidnapping. Of course it would lead to suspicions.
However, it turns out that Beck isn’t the one in charge. There is something much bigger going on, and we all knew it had to lead to Brian Tee’s character, right?
Reacher cleans up the mess from episode 2 in Reacher
The first thing for Reacher and Duffy to do was to clean up the mess left behind at the warehouse. That means Reacher has to go for a bit of a swim. With the house so far away from society and with a big body of water on the other side of it, there is only one way to the car Duffy has. She has a change of clothes for him so that he can at least get dry, though!
The two head into the warehouse, where Reacher takes Duffy straight to Angel’s body. They have a lot to clean up, but Duffy notes that Angel can be useful. She uses his fingerprint to open the laptop and then does something that nobody else ever seems to think about on these shows! She changes the password and removes biometric access. Finally, writers thought about this!
Duffy and Reacher spend some time looking around the warehouse for any sign of Theresa, but she’s not there. Reacher does get an idea of what to do with Angel’s body, though. They can put him and his car into one of the shipping containers. Nobody is going to check those containers as they have been put out for pasture. It’s the perfect way to get away with a crime.
Only it’s not. Two guys from the truck drop in the previous episode show up looking for Angel. It means Reacher and Duffy have to kill them to protect the current situation in the warehouse, because they haven’t had time to clean up all the blood. Those bodies get put in another shipping container, and now Duffy and Reacher have time to clean up and Reacher can get back to the house—again, by water.
Reacher gets information from Richard in Reacher season 3, episode 3
The next morning, Beck is angry and concerned. The two drivers haven’t turned up. Duke says that he can get guys in, but Reacher offers to do it. Well, Beck wants Reacher to take his son shopping.
This is a good thing for Reacher, even if it doesn’t seem like it. While he can’t snoop inside any more trucks, he does get a little bit of information from Richard. He finds out that a guy called Julius McCabe is now in charge. This was the guy who kidnapped and tortured Richard the first time.
It doesn’t take long for Duffy to figure out who this Julius is. By following the trucks, she finds out that Julius is the one and only Xavier Quinn. Of course it was. I don’t think anyone expected any differently, and Duffy certainly didn’t. She does want to know what Quinn did to Reacher—and that’s something we all want to know.

Reacher has to protect his identity and become Number 2
The only way to get more information is to become Beck’s No. 2. That means he needs to kill the current No. 2, Duke.
Beck and Duke found a remote address connected to the DEA. They are heading out there, and Reacher has to go with them. After hurrying to get Angel’s gun, Reacher and Duke head into the house. Of course, this house is empty. It’s all been set up in the way that the DEA wanted it to be.
Reacher tries to get some information about Theresa from Duke, but the man remains silent. So, Reacher kills him and then makes it sound like a gun fight is going off around him. Beck didn’t come into the house, clearly too scared to face the real danger. Reacher then causes an explosion in the house thanks to the removal of the gas to the stove (was the door meant to come off as easily as it did?) and some cans of cleaner in the microwave.
The plan has worked out perfectly for Reacher. Beck makes it clear that he needs a new No. 2 and Reacher is going to be that guy. He proved himself.
Reacher airs on Thursdays on Prime Video.
