The end of Reacher season 3, episode 5 sent our titular character right into the middle of the hornet’s test. Well, Reacher season 3, episode 6 picks up with that. Would Quinn recognize the man who once tried to kill him?

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Reacher season 3, episode 6.

Of course, Reacher’s cover was eventually going to have to be blown. The way it happened wasn’t something we really saw coming. I’m sure most people expected Quinn to have faked his amnesia and immediately recognize Reacher.

Quinn really does have amnesia in Reacher season 3, episode 6

It turns out that amnesia is real. When Quinn comes face-to-face with Reacher, he shows absolutely no sign of recognizing him. This could mean he’s a great actor, but everyone seems to think that it’s genuine. Even Reacher realizes that he is clear for now, especially when Quinn notes that it’s because of Reacher that some of the current job is salvageable.

However, Quinn does know something. He knows that someone gave his license plate to the 110th Special Investigators. So, he sends out men to kill those who talked with the person who sent the license plate or gave details of Angel Doll’s name. While Neagley was ready for it and able to take the guys after her down, the poor guy who initially took the call wasn’t to lucky—and neither was his landlord.

With Neagley safe, she was able to make a call to Reacher. He realized from that moment that it wouldn’t be long before his cover was blown. It didn’t even take a mistake with Beck’s son, Richard, finding out that the kidnapping was a set-up and that the cop Reacher “killed” was still alive. I have a feeling Richard could be the secret weapon to take Quinn’s business down.

Beck helps Quinn work some of it out in Reacher

Instead of Richard, it’s Beck who figures out that his new No. 2 is the mole. When Quinn mentions that the 110th is involved, Beck points out that Reacher used to be in the 110th.

With all the information in Reacher’s hands, he knows that his cover is blown. He just about makes it out of the house because Paulie gets him, but how long will it be before Reacher has to find a way to take down Paulie? That match up isn’t going to be fun for our favorite lead.

It’s only a matter of time before Quinn remembers everything, right? Isn’t that how amnesia ends up working in these shows? The more they come across the people from the past, the more they remember about the past, right? So, Quinn has to remember Reacher and everything that happened that night eventually, and that means remembering Dominque, which is a way under Reacher’s skin.

For now, Reacher is out of the house and is back with Duffy. They also find out that Theresa is still alive, and that’s only because she’s a red head. It turns out that Quinn has a client who likes red heads, so she’s been sold to him. That offers Duffy some hope.

I’ll say that Duffy confuses me, though. She kissed Reacher and then got mad at him for it, saying that she isn’t getting involved with someone on a case again. Reacher never asked her for that. I guess she has a problem with separating work and personal unlike Reacher.

I don’t feel like we managed to get a lot of information, though. Maybe it’ll help Duffy and Reacher find Theresa, but this did feel like a long episode for what was really going on.

Reacher airs on Thursday on Prime Video.
