What would you do if the dead came back to life? It’s something the people of a small Wisconsin town need to figure out in Revival. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s a murder to solve.
Melanie Scrofano returns to fight off the monsters of the world. After Wynonna Earp, we know that not all monsters are the supernatural creatures, but sometimes they definitely are. However, in this new universe, she needs to work out what’s going on while keeping the town she protects safe.
She’s a cop in her town, and her dad is the sheriff. Together with Dana’s younger sister Em, played by Romy Weltman, they need to get to the bottom of the supernatural event, but they also need to work out a murder. It turns out that the murder victim is alive, and they get to work out their own murder.

You will not want to overlook this new series. The good news is that it airs weekly, so you’ll get a chance to watch with others and talk about the episodes in between. This is something that I miss about TV when it comes to streaming! Episodes air on Thursdays at 10 p.m. Et/PT on Syfy.

What to expect in Revival
This is one of those shows that has a lot going for it. On the surface, there is the mystery of how people have come back from the dead. Why did someone raise them, and why is just this town affected? What happens if the dead try to get across the town boundary, and are they called back to become a danger to the living.
And this last question sets up the segregation storyline. The dead are not welcome. While they have the same memories and same looks as when they died, they are no longer the same people. At least, not to everyone in town, and that’s led to them getting new ID and new restrictions. It’s so easy to hate people because they’re different.
Mixed in with all that is the murder mystery. Someone has been murdered, and now the case needs to be solved. In an unusual turn of events, the murder victim is alive, and that’s going to lead to some interesting moments. How much does this murder victim remember?
