After getting to know a little about the town and the aftermath of Revival Day, Revival season 1, episode 2 delves more into Em and her mystery. We learned at the end of the series premiere that she’s a Reviver, but nobody knew that, so that means she died without her family knowing.

The episode opens with Em waking up, throwing up a wedding ring. At first, she doesn’t know what’s happened to her. She gets back to her apartment and starts taking some drugs, only to find that she can’t get high.
Now Em really needs answers, especially as she punches the mirror, only to find out that her skin heals. We know from the series premiere that it’s not easy to kill a Reviver. Is it possible at all?
Dana agrees to keep her sister’s secret in Revival season 1, episode 2
While back at the barn, Dana knows that she needs to cover up Em’s secret. Their dad cannot find out that she’s a Reviver, especially considering his opinion of them. On top of that, Wayne isn’t happy that Dana took Em to a crime scene.
Now in Dana’s defense, it wasn’t a crime scene at the time. Also, if Em wasn’t there, Dana would have been killed. However, Wayna clearly favors his younger daughter, and considering he keeps saying “in her condition” about her, it suggests that there’s something wrong medically that makes him extra protective of her.
Sure enough, that comes up in Revival season 1, episode 2. Em was born with a disorder that causes her bones to break easily. She still has that disorder as a Reviver, but now she’s able to heal quickly.
Em goes to see her professor in Revival
What Em needs to figure out is what happened to her the day of Revival Day. That’s when she died, and she is sure that someone murdered her. Because she threw up the wedding ring, she decides to see her professor, believing it to be his ring.
Well, it’s not his. He is wearing his ring, and he didn’t see Em the night of Revival Day.
Since Em mentions to the professor that someone killed her, he realizes that she is a Reviver. Will he keep her secret? He might want to, because she’ll also be able to blow up his marriage, and he won’t want that.
However, Em is at square one when it comes to figuring out who murdered her. She needs her sister on her side for this.
Wayne finds his grandson in Revival
At the end of the previous episode, there was also the mystery of what happened to Cooper. Well, it turns out that he wandered into the woods, where he came across a man. Wayne does find him, and he tries to hide the fact that Cooper went missing from Dana at first. It doesn’t take long for Dana to find out.
There’s also a bigger mystery, as it turns out that cutting the brain of the Revivers isn’t the way to kill them. The Reviver from the shed comes back to life in the morgue, and she is still just as aggressive as before. She heads to the nursery, which suggests that there’s something about children involved in this Revival Day mystery.
Overall, it’s clear that there is a much bigger mystery surrounding Revival Day, but the question is what. Meanwhile, Em is going to have to try harder if she wants to keep her secret, because right now, she’s making it a little too obvious that she has rejuvenating abilities considering her medical condition. At least, we’re getting into the murder mystery side of things now.
