Em continues to work with Kaleb to get answers about her death in Revival season 1, episode 4. Meanwhile, Dana continues the search for her own answers about her sister’s murder.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Revival season 1, episode 4.
This episode of Revival brings up a topic that we knew was coming: segregation. Due to one Reviver already proving to be aggressive and so little known about what caused the dead to rise, Wayne has been pushing for a way to get rid of Revivers completely. Well, while he can’t get rid of them, the governor has agreed that they should all have ID cards that show they are Revivers.
That means everyone who did what they were supposed to do and registered as a Reviver (or has made it clear that they are one) ends up with a new form of ID. Wayne personally drops of Kaleb’s, but he doesn’t have one for Em. Nobody knows she’s a Reviver yet.
Em continues the hunt for her killer in Revival season 1, episode 4
Since her dad doesn’t know the truth yet, Em needs to continue the hunt for her killer on her own. Well, with Kaleb’s help. However, Wayne points out that while Em is lucky that she didn’t break anything in the bar fight, the woman she did get in a fight with is pressing charges. Now Em has to do anger management classes, and the first session is that afternoon.
The session is with the wife of the man she’s sleeping with. Awkward! Well, I don’t think she knows Em has been sleeping with him, but she does know that Em is a secret Reviver. Due to patient-doctor confidentiality, nobody is going to find this out, and it means that Em can be completely honest with the woman.
With that meeting out of the way, she’s able to continue the hunt for her killer. Kaleb and Em head to a pawn shop to get the ring checked out. This guy is able to tell her that it belongs to the TA at the school. Is he the one who killed Em?

Dana is almost there with the answers in Revival
Meanwhile, Dana continues her own hunt for answers. She is sure that it’s the professor who killed her sister, and this man is giving her the runaround. She’s a step behind Em at this point, which isn’t surprising considering Em hasn’t told her anything about what’s going on in her head.
Before she can go on a full hunt, though, she needs to help deal with a situation at school. Cooper hit a boy with his locker door, and he has a good defense. The boy was taunting Jordan, the little girl that came back from the dead in the Revival premiere. Cooper was simply sticking up for her, and so Dana isn’t exactly angry at her son’s actions. She points out that the school needs to do better for Jordan.
Dana ends up taking Jordan home, only to find out that her parents don’t want her there. They don’t believe that she is their daughter. As a parent, I can’t imagine being so cold and distant. A parent’s worst nightmare is to lose their child, and they get to have her back. Yet, they don’t want her in their house.
Dana gives her a place to stay, instead, and I love seeing her as a mom. Ramin gets to see her as a mom as well, and after telling Dana that he hates Wayne for creating the segregation, he asks her out for dinner.
If only they made it to dinner. In the end, Dana asks him to take a different route, because she gets a text message to head to the woods. As she walks through them, she gets to Em, who has just watched the TA get shot and killed. As Dana gets to Em, Dana is shot. Em shoots at whoever is trying potentially trying to kill her (and it looks like the guy with the scars all over his face from the very beginning of the episode) and then screams for help as Dana just sits on the wooded ground in shock.
Is Dana going to survive the gunshot? Will Em’s secret now come out to others? There are plenty of questions as we wait for the next episode of Revival.
Revival airs on Thursdays at 10/9c on Syfy.
