Depsite being picked up in May 2023, we’ve had to wait for the 2025–2026 TV season to see the Fire Country spinoff, Sheriff Country. Morena Baccarin stars as Mickey Fox, who we’ve already met in the parent series.
Sheriff Country is set in the town of Edgewater, just like Fire Country, but things won’t quite be the same. It turns out that this series is filming in Toronto, Ontario, while Fire Country continues to film in Vancouver, British Columbia. That won’t stop any crossover moments from happening, though, and the first two episodes of the series promise something. It might make bigger crossover events harder, though.

Don’t miss a beat of the new Sheriff Country
The new series will air on Fridays, but get ready for a time change after the first week. Sheriff Country will premiere on Friday, Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. It airs straight after the premiere of Fire Country season 4, and will be sandwiched in between it and the new Blue Bloods spinoff series, Boston Blue.
However, it’s not sticking to that timeslot. From the second episode, which will air on Friday, Oct. 24, the time will change to 8 p.m. ET/PT. This is the regular timeslot for the series, with Fire moving back into the later timeslot that it’s held since it first premiered.
Fridays are a good night for CBS dramas, and we have high hopes for this new series. But how do you watch it live? Well, you can do so with your regular cable subscription, or you can opt for something like Fubo TV or Sling TV. CBS makes it exceptionally easy to watch live, though, as you can do it with Paramount+.
Catch up on the series at the weekends
What if you can’t watch the show live on Friday nights? That’s okay; you’re not alone. It’s another thing that CBS makes easy.
Remember that Paramount+ subscription you have to watch live? Well, you can use it to watch delayed as well. All episodes head to Paramount+ on Saturday mornings, usually around 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT. That means you can catch up as you’re catching up on rest from a long week at work.

What to expect in Sheriff Country
The series follows Mickey Fox, who is now the Sheriff of Edgewater. She will keep her people safe, but sometimes, her professional and personal lives cross. In fact, in the second episode, we know that her daughter is going to get caught up in an investigation, and that leads to Diane Farr’s Sharon Leone turning up to support Mickey and Skye.
Meanwhile, Mickey is dealing with her estranged father now living with her. She also has to handle her ex-husband, Skye’s father, while helping Skye remain sober after returning home from rehab.
Sheriff Country airs on Fridays at 8/7c on CBS after a special 9/8c start.
