Another crime drama has come to an end. Countdown has wrapped up its first season, and now we wait to see what Amazon decides to do.
Of course, right now, you’ll probably want to binge-watch the entire season. This will help make Amazon away that you love the show, and it allows you time to catch up on all the events to see how the characters ended up where they did at the end of season 1.
What’s after that? It’s time to find shows that are like Countdown, and there are plenty out there. There are a few on Prime Video, but you can also turn to broadcast.

Butterfly
While Countdown was airing, the six-part series Butterfly dropped on Prime Video. This Daniel Dae Kim series saw him take on the role of a form CIA agent, who was out trying to find his daughter. It turned out that his daughter was also sent to kill him, and the two had to figure out whether they could mend their estranged relationship or not.
There is plenty of action throughout the series, along with a great developing plot with Piper Perabo’s Juno as the villain. We got a look at how history has a way of repeating itself, how intelligence can be used in a dangerous way in the wrong hands, and why sometimes, letting someone live is probably not the right decision.

Chicago PD
When you need a bit more than just one season of a series, you’ll want to turn to broadcast networks. Countdown is created by Derek Haas, who is well connected to the Dick Wolf universe. So, what better show to turn to than Chicago PD? There are 12 seasons to watch, with a 13th on its way.
The series follows the Intelligence Unit, a team of cops and detectives put together under the leadership of Sergeant Hank Voight. They work together to tackle some of the darkest and most dangerous crimes in Chicago, keeping the people safe. However, it’s not an easy task, and sometimes, morals can stray.

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf
While there are only four episodes of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf out right now, this is still a series worth watching and there are more episodes to come throughout September. It follows a group of secret operatives tracking down the villains who could end up creating a nuclear bomb that could threaten the whole world.
However, it’s more than that. This is a series that focuses on the realities of war, and how people can make rash and bad decisions as emotions take hold. What do you do when your whole career goes up in smoke and threatens the other people around you?
The Fall
We’re going back a bit for this one, as it’s a Northern Irish series from more than a decade ago. Despite that, it’s one that you need to check out, and it brings the grittiness of crimes and a police chase. Gillian Anderson stars as Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson, who ends up locked in a cat and mouse game to hunt down a serial rapist and killer.
Jamie Dornan is the villain of this story. Yes, we get to know who he is from the start, and we get to see the intricacies of the investigation. There is a slow-burn element to this because the hunt takes three seasons, and it’s more than worth the wait for the climax.

Reacher
When it comes to Amazon crime dramas, there is one that will stick out for many. It’s all about Reacher, based on the Lee Child books that follow the titular character. Alan Ritchson is the man we pictured from the books, and he’s done a wonderful job bringing this character to life.
Each season is a standalone story. Yes, there are characters here and there who pop up between the seasons, but this is mostly a chance to show how one man will do what he can to keep people safe. And sometimes, those missions get a little too personal, but he will find a way to follow his conscience.
