Throughout the summer, Syfy kept us occupied with the supernatural crime drama Revival. It brought an excellent mixture of storytelling, all ending with the big reveal of who killed Em.
Now the show is over (and hopefully just for the season) and you need something to fill the void. The great thing about supernatural and crime is that the two genres blend together well. That’s why there have been so many other shows over the years that blend the two together.
Not sure where to start with shows like Revival? We have you covered with these five top picks.

Grimm
There is no better place to start than with Grimm, the series that brings fairytales to life. David Giuntoli plays Nick Burkhardt, a police detective who is from a long line of Grimms, the people who hunt down the Weson, the part human, part animal creatures that threaten humanity.
The fantastical series was inspired by the dark characters from the Grimm Brothers’ fairytales, but brought them into the real world and created real problems. What better way than to have a homicide detective realize that maybe not all murders are by humans?

Sleepy Hollow
There have been many versions of the Sleepy Hollow story, and for this one, we’re looking at the supernatural FOX series from 2013. It all started with Icabod Crane and the Headless Horseman in a battle that would kill them both. Then suddenly, they’re in 2013, and that’s when the real mysteries began.
This is more supernatural than crime, but there are a lot of mysteries to figure out. Crane teams up with Sleepy Hollow’s Sheriff’s Lt. Abigail Mills, and they end up working together to figure out which mysteries are human and which ones are linked to the upcoming apocalypse.

iZombie
Do you want something that is a little more like Revival in the sense of the dead coming back to life? Then you need to turn to the CW series iZombie, starring Rose McIver. In this one, the lead character is a zombie, and she’s around to solve murders.
Originally wanting to be a doctor, Liv ends up having to work in a morgue, where she has access to brains. As she eats the brains, she sees their last moments (while also taking on their personalities), and suddenly, she’s able to help the police with the murder investigations. Hopefully, she’ll also find a cure for her zombie fate.

Lucifer
Sometimes, you need a little devil in your life, and Lucifer is the perfect series for that. Yes, there is literally Lucifer in the series, with Tom Ellis stepping into that role. He is just looking to have some fun on Earth, but when he runs into a detective, he ends up deciding to become a private investigator and help solve crimes.
Of course, there is the mystery of why he can’t get his “Detective” to tell him her deepest desire. He also can’t figure out why he’s so drawn to her, and so, he sets out on a mission to figure it all out while avoiding his siblings so he doesn’t have to go back to Hell.

Haven
Syfy has some great supernatural crime dramas of the past, and one you’ll want to check out is Haven. It follows FBI Special Agent Audrey Parker, who is dispatched to a small town called Haven in Maine. Look, nothing good comes from Maine, does it?
She ends up involved in the various “Troubles,” which is a plague of supernatural afflictions. Not everything is as it seems, and there are times that Audrey will even need to question whether her memories are her own. Plus, what does this town have to do with the mother she never knew?
