A politically motivated attack in SWAT season 8, episode 6? (Preview)

Hondo and the team may need to deal with a politically motivated attack in SWAT season 8, episode 6.

Hondo and the team may have a case that involves politics. Get ready for SWAT season 8, episode 6.

TV shows include a lot of important topics in today’s world. For a show like SWAT, there has been a lot of focus on the way Black people don’t like the cops, and we can’t really blame them. There is a lot of systemic racism that goes on, and SWAT started with Hondo trying to find that line to walk with the cops and with his own people.

As the show has gone on, other political topics have come up. One of those is coming up in the new episode, and it’s going to make a few people angry.

Attacks on healthcare workers in SWAT season 8, episode 6

There isn’t a fresh promo for the new episode. CBS has opted to push out older promos for episodes recently, and it’s not all that clear why. Surely CBS would want to tease people to encourage them to watch the show.

Well, at least we have a synopsis to get an idea of what to expect in the episode. This tells us that Hondo and the team is called out to the shootings of healthcare workers. These aren’t any healthcare workers, though. The workers are at women’s clinics, and we all know what that is likely to link to.

There are a few politically motivated options here. We could see the show go down the route of anti-abortion people attacking and terrorizing healthcare workers at the clinics. This is the most common, and it’s scary how much people think that violence is perfectly acceptable in times of protests—it’s really not, and it is terrorism at the heart of it.

Another option is an attack on other women’s healthcare rights. Maybe there are people against contraception and other healthcare needs. Too many people get it into their heads that contraception is only for birth control. Even if it is, there’s nothing wrong with that, but contraception is needed for so many other reasons.

Of course, there’s also the chance that this is an attack on political points of view, or on women in general. There are a few options here, and I’m intrigued to see the way the writing goes.

Check out the synopsis for SWAT season 8, episode 6:

"When back-to-back shootings at women’s clinics leave two healthcare providers dead, Hondo and the team investigate whether the shootings were politically motivated."
