The Equalizer isn't new tonight, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel (Feb. 9, 2025)

Queen Latifah will be back on our screens soon. What's the deal tonight, Sunday, Feb. 9?

Sundays are about to return to some normalcy. We’re getting closer to The Equalizer returning with new episodes, but it’s not this week.

It has been a long wait for the show to return. This is good, though. We want the break now in one continuous run. It means that there are fewer weeks to fill up to the May finale week, and that means fewer breaks in the schedule once the show does return. Just look at the breaks Chicago PD fans keep getting to see how annoying it could be! It just doesn’t feel like a good thing while we’re on hiatus.

The Equalizer won’t get reruns tonight

There is some bad news for those ready to at least watch a rerun tonight, Sunday, Feb. 9. The lack of new episode is due to the Super Bowl, but that will air on FOX. It leaves CBS’s schedule open for a night of reruns, right?

Well, while CBS will bring a night of reruns, it’s not The Equalizer. We’ll get a full night of Tracker reruns, which is definitely disappointing for the Queen Latifah fans out there.

The best place to turn for recent episodes is Paramount+. However, Netflix has some of the earlier seasons of the series.

When will The Equalizer return with new episodes?

The good news is that there is a light at the end of the hiatus tunnel. The Equalizer season 5, episode 9 will air next Sunday, Feb. 16. This is going to be at the slightly later time of 10 p.m. ET/PT, as the middle slot is being taken over by the new medical drama Watson.

When the series does return, it will bring a heartwrenching case for McCall and the team. A young girl becomes the victim of a shootout and it could mean a gang war is about to happen in the neighborhood. When a shipment of guns has been stolen, McCall is on a race against the clock to prevent more deaths.

We’ll also see more for Aunt Vi and Delilah. Both of them will prepare for their dates, and I can’t wait to see how the two prepare. We’re sure to see them prepare in different ways for their generations. I’m here for Aunt Vi’s dating life. I want to see something hopeful for later in life.

The Equalizer airs on Sundays at 10/9c on CBS starting next Sunday, Feb. 16.
