The Equalizer season 5 won't air a new episode tonight (can you watch a rerun)?

January is the time that most broadcast dramas return with new episodes. There's some bad news for The Equalizer fans tonight, Sunday, Jan. 5.

“Sacrifice” – The team races to rescue a young hacker, who reminds Harry of his past self, being forced to hack for criminals. Meanwhile, Dante is back in town to visit his father and Mel makes a breakthrough in therapy, on the CBS Original series THE EQUALIZER, Sunday, Nov. 17 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode

As we get into the new year, we get ready for our favorite shows to return. There is some bad news when it comes to the return of The Equalizer season 5. There isn’t a new episode on tonight, Sunday, Jan. 5.

In fact, there won’t be a new episode at all in January. While some CBS shows will make their returns this month, the Sunday night shows are holding off for a while. This makes a lot of sense when you look at what Sundays are all about in January.

Is there a rerun of The Equalizer on tonight, Sunday, Jan. 5?

CBS is holding returns for the end of the month, but we have seen some reruns of top shows recently. What about tonight? Will we at least get a rerun of The Equalizer season 5 tonight? This is where we have even more bad news.

CBS won’t have reruns of the Sunday dramas. This is due to one of the big reasons Sunday shows aren’t coming back this month. CBS will air the 82nd Annual Golden Globes tonight, Sunday, Jan. 5. The network can’t air two things at once, and of course, the Golden Globes are going to take priority!

When will The Equalizer season 5 return?

So, when can we expect the series to come back? Well, Sundays are all about award shows and football in January. In fact, there are even football games on into early February, with the Super Bowl airing on Sunday, Feb. 9. We can’t expect Sunday shows to return before then.

The Equalizer season 5 will return on Sunday, Feb. 16. This is the same date as Tracker’s return as well.

It’s important to note that this return will be at a later time. The Equalizer is moving to the 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot, with the 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot being taken over by the new CBS series Watson starring Morris Chestnut. I am worried about what this means for the Queen Latifah series, but I’m hoping the move isn’t a death knell for it.

The Equalizer will return on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 10/9c on CBS. Catch up on the season so far with Paramount+.
