Arrow’s David Ramsey took on a villainous role in The Hunting Party season 1, episode 6, and he did no disappoint. Here’s a look back at the episode’s events.

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for The Hunting Party season 1, episode 6.

The new episode of The Hunting Party started with a past storyline, although it took some time to figure that out. I honestly just thought Ramsey’s character was purposely wearing a wig to make people not recognize him. However, it turned out it was the past storyline that would eventually lead to him going to The Pit.

While in The Pit, we learned that he went through what The Pit called Material Detachment Therapy. He clung onto materialistic items as a sense of worth, and while in The Pit, he was rewarded with food for giving up items. That’s how he believed he became more enlightened, and it would play a huge role in the rest of the story.

What did Arlo Brandt want in The Hunting Party season 1, episode 6?

What was interesting about this case is that it wasn’t technically a dead body that caught the task force’s attention. It was a man who had been found in a coma after almost drowning. That guy was a real estate agent who had clearly been bound and had managed to run away. If it wasn’t for him, Arlo wouldn’t have been caught for much longer.

Arlo was taking people he viewed as had too much connection to material wealth. He bought 12 robes from a meditation center, sharing that he was donating to a good cause by getting them. However, it was clear to Bex and the team that he had a bigger plan in mind.

Arlo wasn’t killing this time. He was taking victims he thought he could “treat,” using the same manner as in The Pit. He even took them underground to do the treatment. It makes you wonder what the “treatments” in The Pit were all about. It’s clear there was something much bigger going on.

One thing that I’ve loved about The Hunting Party is the endings. Most of the inmates have been recaptured rather than killed. Bex wants to preserve some human life. So many shows end with the killers dying, and then there’s no real justice being served, but this show gets a chance to change that.

Odell shares a little more about Silo 12

Hassani learned about Silo 12 in the previous episode. While he’s been told to back off, Odell agreed to talk to Bex about what he knew. Silo 12 is an important one, and it’s connected to the others. In fact, people would be taken away to Silo 12 if the “treatments” didn’t work.

It turns out that all the silos were part of a nuclear plan. They were all bunkers, and many of them had been decommissioned. Well, it makes sense that the government had decided to move into these bunkers for their secret experiments. Now it also explains how the silos were even there.

Silo 12 was a space for the Armed Security Forces. This was where the phone call came from, and he’s sure that it was Silo 12 that was responsible for the inmate escape.

How much can we believe of Odell? I’m not sure right now, but I think he is being honest about the set up. He knows that by sharing this, he can be in some serious trouble, so it makes sense that he would draw things out on a napkin and then destroy it all in water while at a quiet place to drink. Unless he really wants to pull Bex and Hassani into some sort of trap, he doesn’t really have a need to tell them all of this about The Pit, so I am on board with him being honest.

Shane is hiding a much bigger secret in The Hunting Party

It’s Shane who isn’t being honest. A couple of episodes ago, we learned that his dad was one of the doctors in The Pit. During this latest episode, he was getting calls from the facility his dad is currently in because his dad was getting agitated, but the calls didn’t calm him down.

At the end, he goes to visit his dad, and one of the facility nurses shares that it’s time for his dad to be moved to another place, one set up to care for those with advanced Alzheimer’s Disease. Shane doesn’t want him moved, sharing that he needs some answers first.

Well, we need answers and so will the facility. A woman comes up to ask who Shane is as he’s leaving. This woman is actually the doctor’s daughter, and she shares that he doesn’t have a son. So, what’s going on? Is she the one lying, or is Shane? Why wouldn’t the facility check on credentials before allowing anyone go in to see an Alzheimer's patient?

I do wonder if Shane just knows enough about the doc since he was a guard in The Pit. Is he the one who actually orchestrated the breakout? Or was he really a guard? Is it possible that he’s tricked people into believing that? Odell should have known everyone who worked there, but what if he didn’t? I have far more questions than I did going into this episode.

The Hunting Party airs on Mondays at 10/9c on NBC. Catch up the following day on Peacock.
