Kylie ends up being the MVP of a case more times than she’s not. She can find the answers others can’t, and that’s what she does in this sneak peek of The Irrational season 2, episode 8.
The series is back from its winter break, and we’re getting into an intriguing case. An acclaimed tennis player has just disappeared without a trace. Now, Alec knows that this isn’t out of choice. She left her dog behind, and no good human would do that.
Alec doesn’t seem to think that this tennis player would leave her dog behind. I’m going to take a guess in saying that there’s something on her social media about how much she loves her dog—and this dog better not be hurt in any way during the episode!
Kylie’s “tada” moment in The Irrational season 2, episode 8
The sneak peek tells us a little more about things that are going on. Phoebe, Simon, and Rizwan try to figure out reasons for the tennis player to just up and leave. While they certainly have some good ideas, Alec says that they don’t factor in the dog was left behind. Honestly, I do think Simon’s idea would match her leaving her dog behind, but it probably doesn’t match to other bits of evidence.
That’s when Kylie walks in with her “tada” moment. I adore seeing the interactions between Alec and Kylie. The two of bounce off each other so well, and they’re so respectful of the way each other’s brains work and their skills. It’s not surprising that Alec asks for Kylie to stick around for longer.

What to expect in The Irrational season 2, episode 8
The episode focuses on an acclaimed tennis star going missing. However, Alec ends up with a medical emergency. We don’t know what that medical emergency is, though. The last time we saw Alec, he learned that there was a treatment that could help to reduce his scars, and he was considering doing it. Is this leading to some side effects?
With Alec facing his medical emergency, it means Marisa and Rose end up working the case together. It’s certainly going to be interesting to see Alec’s ex-wife and current girlfriend working together. With the back and forth Rose has been doing with the relationship recently, I hope to see Marisa point her in the direction of sticking with it.
The Irrational airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC. Catch up the following day on Peacock.
