It’s time for Rudy and Deck to take on Dot Black’s case alone in The Rainmaker season 1, episode 9. This means focusing on getting evidence allowed in the courtroom.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for The Rainmaker season 1, episode 9.
There are two main storylines now going on in The Rainmaker again. The first is Rudy and the court case, and the second is Bruiser and her family.

Bruiser gets more information about Rosalie Sutton
For Bruiser, it’s about dealing with her dad. The feds offer her a deal, but she doesn’t seem to take it. Instead, she goes to her dad to get some answers about Rosalie.
Her dad says that he tried to get Rosalie out of the country, but something went wrong. It’s possible that Leo organized her murder, but he can’t prove that.
When she goes to see Prince for more information, she finds out that he is packing up and getting out of town. She’s angry that he would leave Rudy without handing over Pritcher. It’s time for Prince to do the right thing, but is he willing to do that?

Rudy works to get evidence allowed in The Rainmaker season 1, episode 9
It looks like things can finally work out for Rudy. While at first his case starts to fall apart, he’s able to get Jackie to testify on the stand. However, at first, the evidence she has is inadmissible since she admits to stealing that evidence.
Bruiser encourages Rudy not to take Leo’s word that the machine with the morphine resets the data every 90 days. This is when Jackie is brought back in as an expert witness, since she trained people on that machine. The data is never erased unless it is manually overwritten by people. This allows the evidence to be used after all, since the machine has been tampered with to withhold evidence.
Jackie shares that she saw Pritcher leave Donnie Ray the night of his death, and that Pritcher shouldn’t have even been there. On top of that, he was leaving a coding patient, which goes against everything. When she looked at the machine, she found that Pritcher would start a dispense for morphine and then cancel it, giving him three seconds to get the morphine. He did this 15 times.
Rudy and Deck need to work on getting the families of the other patients to testify, but Leo is working on settling with them. Meanwhile, Sarah is working on discrediting Jackie by using her relationship issues and potentially cheating on an exam.

The episode doesn’t end with much closure, but Dot does thank Rudy for doing the right thing. Before we can close out on The Rainmaker season 1, episode 9, we need to get that last bit of hope for Rudy and Deck. Sure enough, Prince brings Rudy down to the basement of the bar, where Pritcher is tied up. It’s Prince’s going away present for Rudy, so he can at least go out with some clean hands.
However, Brad has some dirt on Leo. When Leo makes Sarah second chair, Brad warns Leo that he knows where the bodies are buried. What bodies? Well, of course, Leo thinks that Prince and Lyman are going to get out of the country and not share a word, but that may be something that may not happen considering what we know about Prince and Rudy.
As for Brad, he may want to watch his back. Jane has photos of Brad going to Yogi’s Bar, and this leads to trouble for him.
It’s all to play for in The Rainmaker season 1 finale, which airs on Friday, Oct. 17 on USA Network.
