After a long break, The Rookie is finally back. While we are somewhat disappointed that we’ve had to wait until 2025 for new episodes, this break will be worth it on the other side. We have a consistent schedule for the most part with 18 episodes close to back-to-back!

Dealing with the prison outbreak in The Rookie season 7 premiere
The Rookie season 6 finale ended with some major moments. While we saw the downfall of a couple of villains, we also saw other villains get out of prison. One of those was Bailey’s abusive ex-husband, Jason. Well, he’s about to cause a lot more issues for Bailey and Nolan.
The team is going to focus on catching Jason and the other inmate on the loose, Oscar. They are dangerous criminals, and the LAPD will need to stay alert and watch each other’s backs.
We get to meet some new rookies on the force. This certainly helps to keep the series with the initial premise and match the title. We’ll get to see new cops come onto the job and figure out the best way to succeed. They’ll need to rpove themselves, as they realize that this job is far more dangerous than they likely inintially expected.
We’ll continue to see Harper and Lopez work as detectives. Harper has a great line in the promo about how they are always rookies, because every day on the job is different. This is so important in the world of police work, as it’s important to remain vigilant with everything going on. Taking your eye off the danger for just one day can mean the difference between life and death.
