Things are about to take a dark and twisty turn on The Rookie season 8 episode 3. Nolan finds himself in a race against time to find a victim, and the day started as a trespassing arrest.
One arrest leads to something much bigger during the episode. This could turn into the case of the century, but it could also end in heartbreak if Nolan and the team don’t get to the bottom of it.
When a trespasser is much worse on The Rookie season 8 episode 3
The promo gives us a look at the way the case will take a turn. When Nolan arrests a trespasser, Harper and Lopez realize that this guy is far more dangerous. He is connected to a murder that happened 15 years earlier, which involved a young girl found in the woods with just a fingerprint as evidence. Thanks to the guy’s arrest, there is someone to connect that fingerprint to.
The problem is he knows that his fingerprints will connect to the case. He must do! Even if he doesn’t know that there is a fingerprint that was at the crime scene from 15 years ago, he must know that the police have something, as now he’s going to be questioned for something much more than trespassing at the rec center.
It won’t take long for all this to take a darker turn. As he tells Nolan that he has another “soul mate,” it’s soon clear that he has someone else. He knows that the cops will have to listen to him and work with him if they want to save an innocent victim.
The LAPD will need to work together
The synopsis for The Rookie season 8 episode 3 suggests that everyone is working on separate cases, but the promo suggests that it’s all connected. And it likely is. With Nolan making the arrest, we know that it pulls Harper and Lopez in, and they’ll want to outsmart a killer.
Nolan makes a quiet arrest; Lucy and Celina race to rescue a kidnapping victim; Harper and Lopez help outsmart a killer; Miles visits a familiar face.
By knowing that there’s another victim, it’ll pull Lucy and Celina in, as they need to hunt down a kidnapping victim. There won’t be much to go on, but I do wonder if the rec center has some sort of connection. Whyw as he there specifically?
The only part of the synopsis that doesn’t seem to fit the promo is Miles visiting a familiar face. Who will we get to see come back? Could it be Seth?
The Rookie airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC and streams the following day on Hulu.
