A member of The Rookie’s past will be back to help with the case. You’re not going to want to miss The Rookie season 8 episode 5.
While the fate of Nolan and Bailey’s relationship is current in the air, the focus is moving to the FBI and Lt. Grey. Now that Grey is working with a task force, we see him less around the station. However, he is still an important member of the team, and we will get to see much more of him on the latest episode, as it’s an intense case.
This also means we get to see more of Special Agent Garza. Bringing in the FBI more has certainly been a good move since we get more Garza.
Aaron Thorsen is back on The Rookie season 8 episode 5
The promo immediately tells us that Aaron Thorsen will be back. He was written out after season 6, with the storyline being that he went to the North Hollywood precinct. It was a chance to avoid having to out himself as a patient of Blair, who had been a huge thorn in the side throughout that season for the LAPD.
We weren’t happy with the decision, especially with the exit happening in between seasons. However, at least we’re going to get a new episode, and it will all link back to Thorsen’s time on the inside.
As you’ll remember, he did time for a crime he didn’t commit. After he got out, he decided he needed to make a career for himself to make sure that didn’t happen to others, but there are plenty of people on the inside for crimes they did commit, and this perp they’re all after on The Rookie season 8 episode 5 is one of them. It turns out that this guy is part of a criminal network that the FBI and Grey will need to take down.
Nolan and co. have their own case on The Rookie
While all that plays out, Nolan, Lucy, Miles, and Celina will need to deal with their own case. When there’s a mysterious officer-involved shooting, the four need to team together to find out what happened and who was in the wrong.
Lt. Grey and the FBI task force enlist the help of an old colleague to uncover a criminal network; Nolan, Miles, Lucy and Celina respond to a mysterious officer-involved shooting.
We don’t get many details about this case, and it’s likely just to help lighten up the storyline. One thing that is clear from the promo, though, is that Celina didn’t even know that Aaron was coming back to help with the other case. They used to keep in touch, but it looks like they don’t anymore, despite not really being too far away from each other!
The Rookie airs on Mondays at 10/9c on ABC and streams the following day on Hulu.
