There is still a lot going on with Bailey and Nolan on The Rookie, and it makes Valentine’s Day not quite a happy one. Meanwhile, there’s someone out there setting more than hearts on fire on The Rookie season 8 episode 6.
We pick up off the back of The Rookie season 8 episode 5, with Nolan making it clear that he doesn’t want to move to DC. He doesn’t want to start from the bottom again, and there are no government jobs that excite him — and it’s not like he could even make the switch anyway. So, it looks impossible, and Bailey either needs to accept that or make the move herself.
Oh, and the great news is that while other ABC shows and a lot of other network shows are taking a break for the Winter Olympics, The Rookie is not!
It’s not a ‘happy’ Valentine’s Day for Bailey on The Rookie season 8 episode 6
Nolan is trying, but Bailey isn’t in the mood. This isn’t a “happy” Valentine’s Day for her, mainly because she’s not getting her way. She’s pushing too hard for Nolan to change his mind, when really, she needs to make a choice. Either she goes to DC without her husband (and they try long distance) or she accepts that her life is in Los Angeles.
It’s not an easy conversation to have, but they need to have it at this point. The passive aggressiveness from Bailey is immature, and it’s going to cause more damage in the long run.
Nolan doesn’t have time for it, either. There’s a guy who has set a swan boat on fire. It doesn’t look like anyone was in it, but this is a clear message to someone. Is this a person so hurt by love that he’s destroying the idea of romance for anyone? It certainly seems so!
Celina believes Miles is cursed on The Rookie
Meanwhile, Celina wants to understand why Miles is having a string of bad luck. During the previous episode, he shared with Nolan that at first his ex was happy with the move from Texas to California. Then things changed when they arrived, and that’s why they broke up.
It’s not the only bit of bad luck he’s had, and Celina wants to get to the bottom of it. Of course, she is superstitious, and she believes that he’s been cursed. It’s time to remove that curse, but that is going to take some work.
Miles isn’t the only one suffering from bad luck. Lucy can’t find the gift she bought Tim, and she’s looking everywhere for it. Could it be in one of the boxes that Tim opened? Has he already found it? Really, she could just be honest — it happens! That safe spot is so safe that you can’t find it yourself!
