The new season premieres tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 6. The Rookie season 8 premiere will air at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, straight after new episodes of Will Trent and High Potential. It’s a night of quirky crime drama that will be must-watch viewing.
There was a rumor that Canadian viewers would get the episode early, and that is sort of true. Select parts of Canada, such as Atlantic Canada, will get the episode in the 7:30/6:30c timeslot due to the way the networks run the schedules. That will be the case until High Potential ends and The Rookie moves back to the earlier timeslot — presuming the same thing will happen as last season. It’s not unusual for some parts of Canada to get episodes a little earlier due to the need to schedule content.
To watch The Rookie on ABC, you can check it out with your regular cable provider. If you’ve cut the cord, then you’ll want to turn to the likes of YouTube TV and Fubo TV to watch the episodes live.

Part of her plea deal was to help capture them, but do we really trust her not to have some sort of ulterior motive?

Of course, there are questions about Oscar Hutchinson, who escaped prison during The Rookie season 7 finale. What is he up to, and when will he show up to be a problem for Nolan and co.?
Our biggest thoughts are on Cheford, who may or may not find their way back to one another. We’re hoping for the former.
