We are certainly more than ready for new episodes of Tracker. There is some bad news, though. There isn’t another episode in 2024. At least, not a new one!
There will be some reruns throughout the holiday season, but Tracker is officially on a break. Episode 8 was its fall finale, which means the show is on a break for the rest of the year. This is perfectly normal; there is nothing to worry about when it comes to the fate of the series.
Why is Tracker on a break?
All shows go on winter breaks. This allows for two things in the schedule. The main thing is that the cast and crew can take time off during this time of year. They deserve to spend time with their families as well!
The other thing is the linear ratings. The networks see a dip in the linear ratings this time of year, which puts shows at risk. Instead of playing Russian roulette with the ratings, the networks opt to put the shows on a break and opt for reruns and holiday programming instead.
There will be a rerun of Tracker on Sunday, Dec. 8, but it will be at a slightly later time. The Equalizer season 5 fall finale will air straight after a new 60 Minutes instead.
When will Tracker season 2 return with new episodes?
Now for a little more bad news. Tracker won’t return in January. While CBS is bringing a lot of shows back in January, the Sunday shows are getting a little longer off. This makes sense when you consider football and award shows pre-empt episodes. It’s better to get back to a normal schedule after the Super Bowl, and that’s what CBS is doing in 2025.
Tracker season 2, episode 9 will air on Sunday, Feb. 16. It will air straight after a new episode of 60 Minutes at 8 p.m. ET/PT. We’ll see the new Sunday lineup with Watson and then The Equalizer airing.
There aren’t any details on what to expect when the show returns just yet. The previous episode ended with some clues as to where Gina Picket could be. This is an ongoing case for Colter this season, so we’re not expecting to see any big movement in it until closer to the finale.
Tracker returns on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8/7c on CBS. Catch up on the series on Paramount+.
