Sunday nights haven’t been the same since the Tracker season 2 winter premiere. That left us with a world of questions, and we’re waiting patiently for the series to come back. The bad news is that there isn’t a new episode tonight, Sunday, Jan. 26.
We would love nothing more than to see the return of the series. The bad news is that we have to wait a lot longer. This break is going to end up being a good thing, but it doesn’t mean that it feels like that right now.
What’s on instead of Tracker tonight?
There isn’t even a rerun of the Justin Hartley series tonight, Sunday, Jan. 26. That’s because CBS will air the AFC Championship Game, which starts at 6:30 p.m. ET and runs until 10 p.m. ET at least. This game could end up going into overtime, which will push the end to later.
Because this is going to be such a big game, CBS has decided to put the series premiere of a new series on straight after. Fans will be able to tune into the Morris Chestnut series Watson. This show will move to Sundays after the Super Bowl, airing in between Tracker and The Equalizer. It makes sense for the network to give this series a boost for the ratings. The post-Super Bowl showings of The Equalizer and Tracker worked extremely well for both shows.
When will Tracker return with new episodes?
There is a lengthy wait for Tracker season 2. In some good news, there will be a rerun on in a couple of weeks. While the Super Bowl airs over on FOX, CBS will bring us a night of Tracker reruns if that’s what you prefer. That’s getting us ready for the return of the series.
Tracker season 2 will return on Sunday, Feb. 16. This is the week after the Super Bowl, and it makes a lot of sense. After all, Sundays are taken up by sports and award shows this time of year. On Sunday, Feb. 2, CBS will air the Grammy Awards. If Tracker was brought back earlier in January, there would have been one episode and then weeks off due to the various big events happening on the network.
By opting for a mid-February return, it will mean fewer (if any!) breaks in the run up to the finales in May. There are plenty of episodes for the weeks available, and this means a more consistent schedule for a more successful series.
Tracker returns on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8/7c on CBS.
