Throughout Tracker season 2, there were questions about whether we should be worried for Eric Graise’s character, Bobby. Well, during the summer, we got the confirmation that Bobby wouldn’t be back for Tracker season 3.
Sadly, it looks like Eric Graise left the show due to health issues. While showrunner Elwood Reid did say that it didn’t make sense to have Colter rely on other people all the time, it still wouldn’t warrant completely writing him out, and in October 2025, Graise’s family did share the disappointing health update for him.
Yet, here we are, and we got a quick update at the start of the Tracker season 3 premiere to find out where Bobby is.

Bobby has a new job in Tracker season 3
Randy is still around to help with the tech side of things, which makes sense. Chris Lee did help to add more fun and energy into the series as he came into the second season, and it changed the dynamic for all. Now we will get to see him more, and he was able to offer the update about Bobby.
After getting a text from Bobby that said, “Thx. Miss u 2. Tell the gang I say hi,” Randy explained to Reenie that Bobby is doing well. It turns out that he got a new job, leaving the shop for some new startup, and we know that with his skills, he deserves that job. In fact, he’s an encryption specialist, and it doesn’t just bring a boost in wage, but also some stock options.
Randy was only happy for his cousin, seeing him get something that he deserves, and it left us with some hope for the character as well.

Does this mean Bobby could return?
With Bobby leaving for a positive reason, it does arguably keep the door open for his return. Should Graise want to and should there be a storyline for it, there’s a chance that we could see Bobby come back to help Colter with a case.
Maybe Bobby could even bring the case. We got to see Bobby turn to Colter in the first season, which Colter was more than happy to do. The same thing happened with Randy in the second season. If Bobby is working for a tech startup, he could find out about something going on that leads to Colter’s skills being needed.
It’s unlikely that this will happen, though, as Graise is currently in hospice care due to knee pain and a flare-up of leukemia. It’s a heartbreaking update, and all we can do is wish him the best.
Tracker airs on Sundays at 8/7c on CBS.
