SWAT ratings got a much-needed boost on Oct. 23, as Season 3, Episode 4 brought in some additional viewers. Check out the latest SWAT numbers.
SWAT ratings were looking up this week, with the CBS drama getting a boost on a hectic Wednesday that also included Game 2 of the MLB World Series.
The latest episode “Immunity” put the focus on Deacon Kaye (Jay Harrington), when his professional and personal lives collided. Precinct TV named the episode one of our picks of the week.
TV audiences agreed, with the installment bringing in 3.83 million viewers.
That’s a lift over last week’s 3.60 (+0.23, or an additional 230,000). It’s also the series’ biggest live viewership in three weeks.

“Immunity” ranked eighth out of the 15 shows that aired on broadcast TV for Oct. 23. That’s up one spot from the prior week as well; it had previously come in ninth.
In its specific 10 p.m. time slot, SWAT ranked middle of the pack. It was well behind the audience for Chicago PD (6.69 million), but ahead of the ABC News special Harry & Meghan: An African Journey (3.34 million).
The World Series, unsurprisingly, was the clear winner with an audience of 11.76 million who tuned in to see the Washington Nationals take a 2-0 lead over the Houston Astros.

But if you’re a fan, these SWAT ratings are encouraging. The show picked up almost a quarter million more viewers; that’s not a massive gain, but it’s certainly a sizeable one.
What about the demographic numbers? Those went up, too. Amongst adults 18-49, the series scored a 0.6 share, which was a slight uptick from last Wednesday’s 0.5.
The show is still further down the list when it comes to that group—it tied for ninth place with ABC‘s sitcom Single Parents—but that 0.1 was enough to jump it multiple places. Last week, it had been 13th.
SWAT continues to be CBS’s lowest-rated show on Wednesdays, but it’s getting a little bit closer to catching its lead-in SEAL Team (which had 4.64 million people tuned in this week). If the show can keep growing, and retain most of the SEAL Team audience at least, that could be a feather in its cap while it campaigns for Season 4.
SWAT Season 3 continues next week, but TV crime drama fans can take solace in the fact that it was one of only two shows that gained more viewers in adults 18-49 this time around. The other one was The CW‘s Riverdale. Can it keep looking up next Wednesday?
