Just as Harper gets the chance to have her daughter overnight unsupervised, her work gets in the way. Here’s how to watch The Rookie Season 2, Episode 9.

We have an episode of The Rookie that continues to remind us of the sacrifices some of our officers have to make. In The Rookie Season 2, Episode 9, all the hard work Harper has been doing to get overnight visits with her daughter may be destroyed because of her undercover work.

The show hasn’t delved too much into Harper’s past just yet. There’s still plenty of time for that, and I get the feeling this episode is going to be one of those. We get to see Harper undercover, but something is going to go wrong.

When does anything with undercover life go right? SWAT focused on an episode that involved undercover work going wrong, when the Organized Crimes department lost on of their own and needed Hondo and his team’s help to get her back.

The Rookie won’t be turning to SWAT for help, though. It looks like John Nolan is going to be the one to help. He wants to keep Harper out of trouble, standing up for her after the nuclear bomb threat. Harper had basically kidnapped her daughter out of fear of the threat and her ex was going to go back to court with her. Nolan’s words stopped him, and now she’s earned overnight visits. He’s going to want her to keep that.

Meanwhile, Nolan has a storyline of his own. Someone is going to turn up at his home. That someone is the former owner who would like some help. No, it’s not to run through some memories or see if a box has been left somewhere in the basement. The previous owner wants to reconnect with his family.
