NCIS: New Orleans took us on a wild ride in the winter finale. Now we have questions and hopes for the future. When will NCIS: NOLA return in 2020?

The NCIS: New Orleans brought an end to the story to gain justice for Lasalle. Whether you agree with Pride actions or not is up to you, but the biggest question right now is when the show will return. When will we get more episodes of NCIS: NOLA Season 6 in 2020?

Sadly, we’re in for a bit of a break. Unlike its sister shows, NCIS and NCIS: Los AngelesNew Orleans isn’t going to return in January. CBS is putting on the new series, FBI: Most Wanted, on in the 10 p.m. slot.

More from NCIS: New Orleans News

We previously reported that NCIS: New Orleans would move to Sundays. That move is happening in February, giving Madam Secretary time to air its final episodes first. The official return date is Feb. 16, 2020. It will follow God Friended Me and NCIS: Los Angeles.

This move is going to be scary for many. Any idea of a move is scary, and Sundays can be a bad night for TV. We’ve already seen with Los Angeles that football is taking over. However, football will be done by the time NOLA returns. There will likely be the odd breaks for awards shows and other Sunday specials, but for the most part, the midseason is good for an uninterrupted run.

CBS wants the NCIS shows to succeed. They’ve been a staple of the network for too long now to just give up on. The idea is that Sundays will be less competitive than Tuesday nights, giving fans more reason to tune in, especially running off the back of LA. It could help both shows succeed.

Considering the lower ratings Madam Secretary was pulling in, CBS is probably just looking to beat them. As long as that happens, we should see at least one more season out of NOLA, if not more.
