The NCIS: New Orleans winter finale ended with Pride facing a man in a red suit in his dreams. It’s not the first time the man has appeared. Who is he?

NCIS: New Orleans is on its winter break, but we have a lot of questions. The biggest one surrounds the man in the red suit.

The end of the winter finale saw Pride walk around his home with gun in hand. He was ready for someone and came face-to-face with the man in the red suit. This isn’t the first time the red suit guy has been around, but it is the first time the man’s face has been seen. And it’s nobody that we recognize.

Is it someone Pride recognizes? Except for it being a figure he’s seen in dreams before, it doesn’t look like it. But this man has plagued Pride throughout the season. And there’s something supernatural-esque about the guy.

NCIS: New Orleans stands out because of its willingness to focus on the pseudo-supernatural. It brings in that voodoo element of the New Orleans culture, and something I completely respect the show for. And this is why I’m verging on the idea that this man in the red suit is some sort of omen. Dare I say, there’s even something devilish about him?

But we’ve seen Red Suit before. He appeared in the New Orleans Season 6 premiere, although had his back to Pride and was far away. Then he showed up again, with Pride dreaming of chasing him through the streets. In that dream, Pride came face-to-face with him but it was in the fog. Pride shot him, only to see the body of a little girl in Red Suit’s place.

After that, we learned the girl had been one to die in a hostage situation when Pride was a young sheriff. Red Suit seems to be some sort of death omen or a reminder of the past. Loretta suggested that the young girl was just a memory, one jostled from the depths of Pride’s minds due to the drugs from the Season 5 finale.

Dr. Tanaka suggested that the Red Suit isn’t a person. It’s not a dream telling him something but his subconscious telling him something.

So, then, why did Red Suit show up at the end of the NCIS: New Orleans winter finale? Could it be that this Red Suit is Pride’s conscious, reminding Pride that taking Barrett’s life was against regulations? It was against the code Pride had taken. Part of his conscious believes that killing Barrett was the right thing (Barrett made it clear it wasn’t all over) but another part of him will tell him it wasn’t the right thing.

Could Red Suit be part of his conscience or is it some sort of death omen. What’s to come in the future of the season?
