Day 3 of the New Year’s Resolutions for our favorite TV crime dramas is all about NCIS. What’s one thing the show could do? Bring back DiNozzo, of course!

NCIS Season 17 has been pretty much on-point this season. The writers did the right thing in only bringing Cote de Pablo’s Ziva back when there was a good storyline, a decent reason to bring her back instead of just doing it for fan service. And now it can grow that good decision with its New Year’s Resolutions.

We’re looking at Tony DiNozzo. There have already been plenty of mentions of him, with Gibbs suggesting that it’s time for Ziva to tell Tony that she’s still alive. After all, I don’t think Tony ever fully believed that Ziva was truly gone, but he knew he had to take care of Tali, his daughter.

Ziva couldn’t tell Tony the truth until Sahar/Sarah was definitely dealt with. That came in the NCIS Season 17 winter finale. Now, it’s the perfect time for a reunion.

The show: NCIS

The resolution: Tony DiNozzo return to reunite with Ziva.

Why it needs to be made: There’s the possibility that the writers will need to leave the reunion to our imaginations. This would depend on filming schedules. After all, Michael Weatherly is currently busy with Bull. However, with both shows being CBS Studios productions, there’s a chance that schedules could be worked out to give Tony a chance to come back on-screen.

After all, the Ziva/Tony reunion is not one that should be off-screen. We need to see it happen, to know that it’s definitely happened. We have waited so long for this reunion to happen.

There are going to be multiple emotions during this reunion from both sides. Tony will have a mixture of confusion, anger, but also relief and love. Then Ziva will have those emotions of relief, love, excitement, and sorrow. The two have missed out on so much, especially with Ziva choosing to keep Tali a secret from Tony until she had to fake her death.

And we can’t forget about Tali. With the return of Tony, we’d have to see Tali come back into the show. She’ll be older now than when we last saw her, and we’ll get a chance to see how Tony and Tali really get on. This is also a chance for Tali to see that her mom is still alive, and let us know just how much she remembers and how much Tony has told her.

I would love for the reunion to be a surprise, too. I’m okay with having no idea up to this point as to whether Weatherly’s schedule has worked out to film just a tiny scene between the two of them.

All I know is that with Sahar taken care of and Ziva’s family no longer under threat, it’s time for Ziva to tell Tony the truth. it’s time to see them back together.
