NCIS: The attraction between Bishop and Torres is becoming stronger
Are Ellie Bishop and Nick Torres going to become like their NCIS predecessors, Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David?
Everyone on the team breaks Gibbs’ rule No. 12 at some point on NCIS. That rule? Never date a coworker.
We’ve seen McGee and Abby, Palmer and Agent Lee, Tony and Ziva, and now Bishop and Torres all covertly form relationships within the NCIS office. As everyone knows this is unacceptable, it hasn’t stopped anyone yet.

The flirtation and inside jokes between Bishop and Torres are very reminiscent of Tony and Ziva. From the middle of Season 15 and all the way throughout Season 17, we’re starting to notice the sexual tension that’s lies between Torres and Bishop.
To start off Season 15, Episode 11, Ellie and Nick go undercover as a “criminal couple” and share a rather surprising yet passionate kiss. At the conclusion of the episode, the two heart-crushing agents continued to flirt in the squad room while talking about their undercover “fling” and shared some kissing advice with each other. Perhaps for future reference?
Another clear indicator of their attraction was during Episode 7 of this current season. Both Bishop and Torres go on dates with other people. They were both clearly jealous and essentially sabotaged each other’s dates by trying to embarrass each other. You could sense the feeling of relief when the relationships turned out to be nothing too serious.
Also during this season, in Episode 11, Ziva gives Nick a piece of advice and tells him to tell Ellie how he truly feels about her. If anyone can speak from experience on the matter, it’s Ziva. The attraction between Ellie and Nick is becoming so strong that even Ziva could see it happening in just a short amount of time during her brief return.
In the most recent episode of Season 17, we learn how strong the relationship between Ellie and Nick truly is. The two are seen going on a morning run together when suddenly Nick gets hit by a car that puts him in life-threatening conditions and sends him to the ICU.
By the end of the episode, we find out Torres took the hit by pushing Bishop out of the way and saving her life. Just before the episode ends, while Torres is lying in his hospital bed, he says to Bishop “you know I risked my life to save yours?” To which she grabs his hand and responds by saying “I know.”
This is a very meaningful moment between the two coworkers and their “relationship”. Viewers are finally starting to see what many have been craving for a long time now between Bishop and Torres.
The other reason being is that Gibbs acknowledges the development of their relationship and seems to be okay with it, which is a direct violation of his own rule 12. Over the years, it seems like Gibbs is more accepting of the relationships from within his own team.
