During Nancy Drew Season 1, Episode 15, the group didn’t pay the toll to the sea witches. Will Nancy be the one to pay double the toll as punishment?
When you ask of something from supernatural beings, you always have to pay the price. No matter what it is. That’s a lesson anyone will learn from watching teen supernatural dramas. It’s something Nancy Drew should definitely know!
In Nancy Drew Season 1, Episode 15, she and her friends made a pact with some sea spirits to get Lucy Sable’s bones. The spirits delivered on the request. At the end, they just wanted whatever their toll would be, which was Owen Marvin’s life.

Naturally, Nancy couldn’t lose the man that she’s falling for. So, rather than pay the toll, she helped save him. By the end of the episode, she started choking on the wreath that had been used to summon the spirits and torn to shreds. It suggests that Nancy is the one these supernatural beings are coming after.
But Nancy didn’t tear up the wreath
George did the act that destroyed the magic holding Owen in place and the beings killed him. Surely she should be the one who ends up suffering, right?
Well, yes and no. Of course, as the titular character, it would only be fitting for Nancy to be the one to now pay double the toll. I’m assuming double just for the spirits to get their own back on her.
But it’s not just because she’s the lead character. Nancy was the one that ordered George to tear up the wreath. Nancy was also the one who did the spell. Her friends were there because they needed six people. The spirits will hold Nancy accountable for being summoned and not getting the toll they wanted.
The next ghost story to deal with
With Lucy’s bones, Nancy will now hopefully have a way to prove that Carson didn’t kill the woman. Of course, there are going to be some big questions about how Nancy and her friends found the bones. It’s been 20 years. How could a group of teenagers and a Marvin come across them?
But that aside, the Lucy Sable murder is getting closer to being solved. And we’ve now seen the Tiffany murder solved. So, with a handful of episodes left, there is going to have to be another mystery.
That mystery is likely to be the ghost that will be after Nancy (and possibly her friends). Never annoy a spirit. You would have thought the Drew Crew would have learned that by now!

Owen probably isn’t long for this world
With the rest of the Drew Crew being series regulars, things aren’t looking great for Owen Marvin. In a way, this is something I dislike a little about TV. By knowing characters are series regulars, it’s more than likely that they’re going to be safe in the episodes. Of course, there are times that TV shows throw us for a loop, but the majority of times, it’s the recurring characters or the guest stars that are the ones quickly killed off.
So, while Nancy seems to have a spirit after her, was that wreath more of a warning? Is this a sign that Owen isn’t sticking around for much longer on Nancy Drew?
