Who did kill Lucy Sable on Nancy Drew Season 1? That was the big question since the beginning of the season. We now have our answers.

At the beginning of Nancy Drew, we had two murders to solve. One of those, Tiffany Hudson, was solved with a twist. Did we really think a second murder would also be solved with a twist? Well, it was. We learned who killed Lucy Sable. Sort of.

After getting Lucy’s bones, Nancy did her thing. She managed to work out the events of the night Lucy Sable died. However, the answers she gained weren’t the answers she expected.

It turned out that the murder wasn’t actually a murder. Not in the most traditional of senses. Nobody physically killed Lucy Sable, but someone may have led to her taking her own life. It’s still unclear exactly what happened, but it’s clear that Lucy’s death was either an accident or of her own hand.

Nancy learned that Lucy was pregnant the night she died. She’d given birth, leaving the baby behind, and then either fell off the cliff or jumped. That’s not something the showrunners haven’t confirmed yet, and I doubt we’ll actually get the full answers at this point. The showrunners don’t want to romanticize suicide, but it turns out that Lucy’s mental health had taken a nosedive at this point.

Lucy had been vilified and bullied by the Hudson family. Not Ryan, but his family, who ran her name through the mud because she wasn’t “right” for Ryan. However, she was pregnant with Ryan’s baby.

That baby is now all grown up. If you guessed that a certain murder mystery-solving 19-year-old is that baby, then you would be right. Lucy had left her baby with Carson Drew before she died.

Of course, with Nancy working out that Lucy’s death was murder and the officials accepting her findings, the murder trial was called off. Carson is no longer at threat of heading to prison, but that doesn’t mean everything is over. He admitted to his daughter (look, he’s still her father, just not biological) everything that happened.

It’s going to be hard moving past this, but not impossible. Carson has been there from day one. He chose to raise Nancy as his own to protect her. Whether he believed Ryan knew about the baby or not, he wanted to make sure Nancy had the life that she deserved. It’s no wonder Carson and Katherine left for a year, making it look like Katherine got pregnant and had a baby elsewhere.

Yes, it’s a lie, but it’s a good lie. It was one for Nancy’s life and future. I think the two will get past this. Now the question is whether Ryan Hudson will learn the truth.
