4. Hawaii Five-0

Number of seasons: 10

Starring: Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Taylor Wily, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park, Chi McBride, Dennis Chun

What it’s about: There are many TV crime dramas that are reboots, and Hawaii Five-0 is one of them. It’s the newer version that you’ll get on CBS All Access right now, and certainly one that is worth watching.

It takes place on the small island, covering the various crimes. There are also episodes that focus more on character development instead of the procedural element to the show. The idea is that the task force will wipe out crime on the island, but that’s much easier said than done.

Hawaii Five-0 is coming to an end—and it sounds like an ending instead of a cancellation. You’ll be able to binge-watch the full series as of April 2020.

3. Criminal Minds

Number of seasons: 15

Starring: Matthew Gray Gubler, Kirsten Vangsness, A.J. Cook, Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, Paget Brewster

What it’s about: When it comes to TV crime dramas with a difference, Criminal Minds is a must. This is the show that helped to bring a focus to some of the most heinous crimes that our investigators need to deal with. Whether it’s serial killers attacking prostitutes or cutting off the skin of men to create their own skin, there are some dark and twisty cases.

Running for 15 seasons, there’s also a lot of development throughout the series. We see some of the worst serial killers and how they can have an effect on various team members. There’s a chance to explore the toll these crimes take on the team, but also the work they’re willing to do to keep people safe.
