2. My Life Is Murder

Fans of Xena will most definitely want to check out Acorn TV’s My Life Is Murder. There’s only one season, but hopefully there is more to come. There certainly needs to be more.

Lucy Lawless stars as a former cop who is supposed to be out of the business. However, her friends pull her back into various murder mysteries when it comes to struggling with dead ends. Instead of allowing the cases to go completely cold, we watch her find new evidence months and years later.

One thing that drives this show is the characters’ relationships. They offer platonic and supportive friendships, showing us how we need to be around each other.

1. Line of Duty

When you want a slightly longer series but not as long as Midsomer Murders, you’ll want to turn to Line of Duty. This is the series for fans of Bodyguard, too. After all, it’s created by the same person.

The series is slightly different to other TV crime dramas on this list. It follows AC-12, who investigate the police officers who break the law while in the line of duty. Not everyone is a good egg, and those bad eggs will be caught. It’s an outstanding series with a strong cast, and you’ve got five seasons of viewing to get through.
