Chris continued her fight for justice in the system on SWAT Season 3, Episode 20. She and Lynch worked together, combining politics and passion.

SWAT Season 3, Episode 20 continued a story from the previous episode. Chris refused to accept that those with parents in high places could get away with anything. The problem was the fight was above her. Step in Lt. Lynch, who had the perfect way to deal with things.

Something the episode made clear was that politics and passion can work together. Chris or Lynch couldn’t have handled this situation alone.

Chris realized that the deputy mayor decided to retaliate against Chris’s uncle through building code violations. Hoping to take care of the situation, she stopped him outside City Hall. Of course, that didn’t work and she started to wonder whether dropping the whole thing would be best.

There’s no way Lynch was going to let that happen. While Chris had the passion, Lynch had the right connections. They just needed to get the ammo to use. That meant getting the deputy mayor down to the station and into an interrogation room (to talk privately, of course). There they were able to get the deputy mayor to admit that he would use his power to continue getting his son out of trouble.

It was all on record. And while he wasn’t explicitly told that it was on the record (I feel like him not knowing should really have just been his problem but never mind), it doesn’t really matter with the people Lynch knows. She has enough journalist connections to get a story out there about the abuse of power.

It certainly worked. Just shortly after, the deputy mayor resigned. While it doesn’t deal with the overall problem of abuse of power, it gets one powerful unethical man out of power.

Chris even admitted that she couldn’t have done this without Lynch’s help. As much as it’s taken me time to warm to the character on SWAT Season 3, I loved her willingness to help fix the system during this episode.
