Power Parties

The original Power was a pop culture phenomenon. One of the phrases the show has coined was “Power parties.“ It’s essentially a group of people gathering to watch the latest episode of Power. After each episode on Sunday night, the Power party goes to social media with the show’s latest plots becoming trending topics on Twitter with fans spewing out their opinions. It doesn’t stop there as celebrities weigh in on social media, as well as radio shows and podcast making the latest Power episode the topic of the day.

The show that created many turns whether it was killing off Kanan or Tommy Egan shooting Angela Valdes (Lela Loren) with a bullet meant for Ghost, those topics spark debates amongst its fans. Power has created a world where people are invested in the characters and the audience let their voice be heard for how they feel about their favorite characters and what should happen to the characters they like to hate.

With the new spin-off, there’s no doubt the rave of Power will shift over to Power Book II: Ghost. With the original Power creator Courtney Kemp and executive producer 50 Cent behind the spinoff, fans can expect a similar formula despite a huge turnover within the onscreen characters.

When you see Power Book II: Ghost trending on Twitter, do you really want to be left in the dark when the show takes over Black Twitter?
