Caleb Castille is now a series regular on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 12

At the end of NCIS: Los Angeles Season 11, FBI Agent Devin Roundtree was given an opportunity to join the team. However, we were left with him taking time to think things over. It looks like he’s decided to say yes.

According to Deadline, Caleb Castille will join the show as a series regular for the 12th season. Filming is underway in Los Angeles right now, but it’s not clear if he’s been there from the first day. We don’t know at which point he’ll come back into the series.

More from NCIS: LA News

Roundtree was in three episodes of Season 11, introduced as a new recruit who LL Cool J’s Sam considered for a spot on the team. He flew out with Sam and Callen to Afghanistan during the finale when an issue of the Code of Conduct came up. Before flying back home, the two offered Roundtree a place on the team.

He didn’t immediately say yes. After all, it would mean a big change for him and his sister, who he has raised from a young age. He needed to think this job opportunity through, which was arguably a sensible decision to make. Plus, it left us with the question of whether Roundtree would join the team full time.

Roundtree should become part of the team

Promoting Castille to series regular for NCIS: Los Angeles Season 12 suggests that he’s definitely joining the team. Why else would he join the show as a series regular?

Who will he work with? He certainly got along with Deeks, but we don’t really want Deeks and Kensi to not work together that much. Their partnership is awesome to watch play out.

Instead, we’re looking at him possibly teaming up with Sam or Callen. There’s a chance the two leads will step back a little from their roles as the actors have other projects on the go. Bringing in more characters to develop will help give them that time. During Season 11, there were episodes where the two leads weren’t there for the whole time.

Considering Roundtree’s sister is heading to UCLA, it makes sense that he’d say yes to the team. So, now we just have to wait for when he’ll become a permanent member.
