The SWAT Season 4 premiere quickly told us where Luca is

The SWAT Season 4 premiere was heavy and important. However, there was one person missing from the team.

Luca wasn’t around. Fans had worried about this since they hadn’t seen Kevin Johnson filming during the first episodes of the season. Has he left?

We’d already dealt with the possibility of Johnson leaving the show during SWAT Season 3. Luca had been injured and needed surgery on his hip. He then struggled to pass his fitness test again to avoid being kicked off the team. Fortunately, he ended the season on a high. So where was he in the SWAT Season 4 premiere?

Luca showed up on video call

Don’t worry about it! Luca isn’t gone for good. He was just on another mission at the start of the season.

More from SWAT News

During the SWAT Season 4 premiere, Luca showed up on a video call from Germany. He’s been sent on a training mission over there. During the call, he mentioned that he was teaching some of the SWAT tricks to the Europeans, but would also bring back some of their tips to the States.

He also shared where he was during the 1992 LA riots. He told a story of how he was in Korea Town protecting the store that belonged to the parents of his girlfriend at the time. We’ve always known he was a good dude.

When will Luca be back on SWAT Season 4?

Luca was still in Germany during the next episode of the two-hour premiere. That wasn’t all too surprising considering we were at the start of the pandemic during these episodes. It all started in March, which was when Luca was situated in Germany.

It would have been hard for him to get a flight back to the United States right away. I think we all remember what it was like to repatriate citizens who were away at the time. Some decided to remain in the other destination until things quietened down a little bit.

We don’t know exactly when Luca will return home, but he will be back with his team eventually. It doesn’t sound like Luca is going away permanently.
