Pride and the team are back on NCIS: New Orleans Season 7, Episode 5

After taking a short winter break, Pride and co. are back. NCIS: New Orleans Season 7, Episode 5 airs tonight, and here’s everything you need to know about the episode, including how to watch live.

The team dealt with the dirty cops from the NOPD during the previous episode. While the team couldn’t get the cops on the excessive force charges or the murder charges, Pride did get them kicked out of the force. It took a little bit of out-of-the-box thinking to do that.

Now it’s time to move forward. In the upcoming episode, the team has a new case to deal with. When a key piece of evidence is missing from a crime scene, it’s already a bad problem for the team. Then they learn that evidence is a high tech battery that could be catastrophic in the hands of the wrong person.

They need to get to the bottom of this case quickly. However, it’s likely to take until NCIS: New Orleans Season 7, Episode 6. The title of tonight’s episode is “Operation Drano, Part I,” so that suggests a cliffhanger ending for next Sunday’s episode.

More two-part storylines for NCIS: New Orleans Season 7?

Could we get more two-part storylines? NCIS: New Orleans Season 7, Episode 5 isn’t the first one. In fact, the first two episodes of the season offered up a two-part episode and then the third and fourth episodes were another two-part story.

It seems to be the thing for the show this season, and it will likely make sense due to the pandemic. It might be easier to film in blocks of two episodes, keeping the focus on particular areas of those two episodes to reduce the risk of cross-contamination on set and limit the number of COVID tests needed each day.

It’s also been fun, in my opinion, to see these storylines develop more. We don’t get the cases solved quickly, which is often unrealistic in TV crime dramas. I hope there are more two-parters to come.

Check out the synopsis for NCIS: New Orleans Season 7, Episode 5:

"As NCIS investigates a suspicious death and the missing key piece of evidence is a top-secret, high tech battery, Pride and the team realize there could be deadly consequences if it falls into the wrong hands."
