Torres and Bishop get trapped in separate jail cells in NCIS Season 18, Episode 6. Here are the five biggest WTF moments from the episode.
The episode started with Bishop getting a tip, which she and Torres had to check out. Sadly, it didn’t work out the way they hoped, with the two of them trapped in separate jail cells in the cellar of a former sheriff’s house that’s now a historical site.
While that’s a problem within itself, it only gets worse. And it’s going to be up to Gibbs and co. with very little information and one word to figure out where the two of them are.
Let’s get into the five WTF moments from NCIS Season 18, Episode 6.
Trapped in a jail cell
Bishop and Torres end up at a former sheriff’s place that is now a historical site. The historical site is an important fact in all this. After a shootout, they get trapped in jail cells that are wired to bombs.
Surely they can call for help, right? There’s the issue of bad signal, and the only word Gibbs understands is “notable.” There’s no way Torres would use that word, which helps McGee figure out that they’re at a historical site. It’s the one thing plus the map they need to get Gibbs to the jail cell just in time to save everyone.
The reason for the title of NCIS Season 18, Episode 6
Let’s now look at the reason for the title of the episode, “1mm.” It was all about the bullet McGee took in his leg. It was 1mm away from killing him.
It’s hard for everyone to digest. Jimmy spends the episode rearranging rooms and McGee and Gibbs avoid speaking to Sloane about it. It’s clearly an issue for all. Not only does McGee have to live with the close call on his life, but Gibbs has to live with almost killing McGee to save his life.
Almost declarations of love
While trapped in the jail cells, things get heavy on NCIS Season 18, Episode 6. Torres and Bishop have a heart to heart, which leads to Torres making it clear that Bishop blowing up is not okay. He’s so close to saying the L word.
Bishop eventually returns the statement. Torres wants to go after the suspect at the very end, only for Bishop to stop him. It’s not okay if Torres is blow up, either. Will this lead to anything more?
A potential exit storyline starting for Sloane
There’s a hint at an exit storyline on NCIS Season 18, Episode 6. We know that Sloane is leaving in a couple of episodes. Maria Bello stuck around long enough to write her character out rather than just mention that she’d gone somewhere, so the storyline has to come up soon.
Sloane is hiding something. It could be everything with McGee and Gibbs, but that’s unlikely. What has she learned and what is she hiding right now?
McGee and Gibbs have a chat
At the very end of the episode, Gibbs and McGee finally chat. McGee has struggled with the knowledge that Gibbs almost killed him, and Gibbs has struggled with the knowledge that he almost killed a man that is like a son to him.
Torres is the one who has some words of advice. It takes almost dying to live hard, and the two men agree. It’s time for them to keep the past in the past.
In a way, I would have liked to see more from McGee as he battled with the thoughts. However, I’m glad to see he’s not blaming Gibbs.
