After taking two weeks off, the series is back with new episodes. And they’re certainly not going to disappoint. While we get a little bit of comedy, there is also plenty of drama to come.

The Rookie Season 3, Episode 5 sees Nolan take his disciplinary exam. Fans will remember that he was pushed back a bit because of how he handled the Armstrong case. Not telling his superior officers about it meant he got himself into a lot of trouble and almost ended up kicked off the force and arrested for something he didn’t do.

He’s surely going to pass the exam. We have no doubt about that. However, he’ll have something more important to deal with in the form of being taken hostage. When he heads out to tell someone he needs to move to public parking, the guy pulls out a gun and takes him hostage. And this guy has nothing to lose, putting Nolan in a very dangerous situation.

Meanwhile, the Valentine’s Day episode will continue with Jackson and Stanton’s storyline. They continue to clash, and it looks like it all comes to a head in this episode. How will it come to a head? Is Stanton going to do something that gets him fired or will Jackson end up a victim of Stanton’s racism?

The images give us a clue of things to come. It looks like Stanton is going to do something he will most definitely regret (although probably only because it means the end of his career). Chen and Bradford look shocked at something and there’s a person being wheeled into an ambulance on a stretcher. We can’t see who it is though. Take a look:
