If there’s one thing we thought, it was that all three NCIS shows would make it through another season. What’s going on with NCIS: New Orleans? Is Season 8 going to happen?

NCIS: New Orleans is the second NCIS spin-off set in, well, as the title of the series suggests, New Orleans. It doesn’t just bring the Naval crimes to solve, but also the music and style of the Southern city. The earlier seasons especially brought in the color and entertainment that the city is known for.

At the same time, it offers a few supernatural elements. It’s not that the cases involve the supernatural, but that the show is willing to touch on dreams and seeing things that lead to character growth for individual members of the team.

Out of the three shows, it is also the most diverse and inclusive. However, it just hasn’t been able to hold the viewers the way the other two shows have.

Has NCIS: New Orleans been renewed?

I really thought that all three NCIS shows would have another season in them. Out of all three, I would have picked the parent show to end, mostly because it all relied on Mark Harmon sticking around.

However, NCIS: New Orleans is the one coming to an end this season. And it sounds like more of an end than a cancellation, which could be linked to Scott Bakula. He may have decided to end his time with the show, and there is no series without Pride.

Is there going to be a Season 8 of NCIS: New Orleans?

Sadly, there isn’t going to be an eighth season. The Season 7 finale is going to be the series finale.

While fans of the show would like to see more, it doesn’t look like any network or streamer is going to save it. Honestly, it really seems like the show has wrapped things up. Looking at the ratings, I thought this should would have at least one more season in it.

When does the new season of NCIS: New Orleans start?

There is no start date since the show has been canceled. If it was going to be renewed, I’d have said it would have had a fall 2021 premiere date.

NCIS: New Orleans‘s series finale will air on Sunday, May 23 at 10/9c on CBS. Catch up on the series through Paramount+.
